About

David’s "passion work" over the last few years has been devoted to sustainability and civil society. Specifically, he created campaigns for Civic Hall, a community and platform dedicated to creating a more just and equitable society through technology. As an outside creative consultant, he worked closely with the founders and executive team, developing community support materials, fundraising campaigns, and marketing The Personal Democracy Forum (a now dormant conference). As a community member, he advised several early-stage ventures on brand and design strategy. His sustainability work includes brand identity, voice, and web design for "Save the Great South Bay,"  an advocacy organization dedicated to the restoration of natural marine habitats on the South shore of Long Island. Today, he is doing similar work for GSB's founder and Aspen Fellow on the "Long Island Conservancy" as a successor organization with a broader mission.

David grew up in branding, marketing, and design. His father was a genuine "madman," and mother, a working artist. I began working as a graphic designer at age 18 for his father's firm and ultimately founded a design firm. Initially, the firm focused on retail, exhibit, and packing design. Over time, the organization and the team grew to offer brand identity, video production, and web development services, focusing on entrepreneurship and early-stage businesses, especially those with public-good missions – yet low on capital. That focus may not have been the savviest growth and economic decision, but it fulfilled a desire to give back to society. I am passionate about responsible citizenship and remain very proud of our work at Barnum Design and Wasabi Rabbit.

More recenty,he has developed creative strategies on sustainable energy campaigns at Essense Partners and enterprise tech (Bing ai specifically) at WE Worldwide.

When he's not building brands, David continues his love for the arts through painting and drawing, is a Kyoshi (5th Dan) in Traditional Japanese Karate, cooks, skis, gardens and occasionally dodges traffic on his road bike.
